Maximising the recyclable potential of waste solvents
One of Soltec’s key innovations is the repurposing of solvents. Soltec can recover used and hazardous solvent material, often in form of residual waste from the pharmaceutical, paint, manufacturing and medical industries. Through a process of repurposing and recovery, Soltec creates products and services that have a threefold benefit for the environment:
- Our solvent recovery process creates products and chemicals for reuse in the economy
- Our Liquid Recovered Fuel product replaces the use of fossil fuels
- Our commitment to recovery has the benefit of reducing the carbon footprint
Solvent Recycling
Over 80% of the waste solvents that we accept annually are distilled into reusable products. Soltec is the only company in Ireland that can carry out this process.
Our distillation process purifies the solvent so it can be repurposed, or even returned to the client and used again. Incoming waste is sampled and analysed in our laboratory to identify the compounds and materials it contains. This identifies the optimal methods to safely and economically recover and recycle the waste into reusable material and new products. We sell a wide range of products to our clients including paint thinners, panel wipes and degreasing solvents. Find out more about our products.
We also provide a national, UK and European supply service of all types of solvent in a variety of pack sizes (2.5, 5, 20, 205 and 1000 litre IBC) through to full bulk. The solvents we sell include: acetone; isopropyl alcohol (IPA); xylene; methanol. Find out more information about our solvents sales.
Industrial Fuel
This process involves a process of blending and homogenising of residual solvent to create a new product – Liquid Recovered Fuel. This product provides our customers in the cement industry with an affordable, sustainable and viable alternative to the use of fossil fuels, such as coal.
This involves the blending and homogenising of the hazardous and chemical waste to create new fuel products. Our innovative recovery techniques ensures that this material is not simply disposed of, but is recycled.
