Soltec CEO, David Corcoran, has been announced as a finalist for the 2025 Ernst and Young Entrepeneur of the Year Award 2025. David is a finalist in the international business category, in recognition of Soltec as an innovative business that recovers and recycles hazardous waste for multi-national companies.

David recently returned from a CEO retreat organised by Ernst and Young in Tokyo, alongside fellow and former finalists and former winners of the EOY Award. The retreat included field trips to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Softbank HQ and Ireland House as well as strategy sessions and workshops with business leaders from Yamaha Motors, Sony Ventures and academic debates moderated by professors at Hitotsubashi University.

David commented: “For me personally, the EOY award process not only provides me with so many opportunities to learn for other industry leaders, it is the realization of an ambition I have had since I was young. Over the last five years, we embarked on an ambitious development plan and we are at now at a stage where the company is receiving industry recognition for its innovation and progress.”

David noted that “the products we produce service the international markets, for example, recycled products we make are sold throughout Europe. Paint thinners, something we regularly produce from solvent waste, is sold across the European market”.

The EY Entrepeneur of the Year Award process concludes in November when the winner will be announced at a prestigious event.
